WELCOME TO CAMP!
We are excited to host our 16th summer camp season in two locations! We have the best pros in the business. We are excited to welcome 20 veteran summer camp teaching artists, AND a group of caring, energetic and spry teens as Camp Assistants and CITs!
All we need to make this a
perfectly creative summer is YOU!
Please let us know how we can ensure your camper has a successful experience with us. It is important that all campers feel like they are heard and seen. Contact Camp Director Lisa Oster or our camp staff with questions, concerns or ideas!

DROP OFF & PICK UP PROCEDURES at Congregation Beth Israel of Media (Media/BI)
Drop-off at Media/BI: Carline will be accessible from 8:40am and "doors" open at 8:45am (not a minute before!). Patience is a virtue on Mondays, so leave yourself extra time for camper check in as parents will have questions to answer and possible paperwork to sign.
Carline @ Media/BI: Enter from Rt 352 and stay to the far right to circle around. Signage will be displayed to know how far to pull up (first car in, must pull ALL the way up to the sign). Mondays we will snake through the back parking lot, rest of the week will stay in the front circular driveway. For safety reasons, do not park and come to pick up your child on foot. DO NOT block or stop on Rt 352.
Pick Up @ Media/BI: Anticipating time of day and multiple cars dropping off/picking up, please turn RIGHT back onto 352. DO NOT block or stop on Rt 352, if there is no room to turn into the driveway circle back or park in the front spaces until there is room in carline. (per Congregation Beth Israel safety guidelines).
Aftercare @ BI (4-5pm): Please register one week in advance and you may choose any number of days you need. $10 per day/ per camper. REGISTER HERE
DROP OFF & PICK UP PROCEDURES at Park Avenue Community Center in Swarthmore (The PAC Center)
Drop-off @ PAC: Please drop off your camper no earlier than 8:45am (not a minute before!). A staff member will come and meet our campers at the main front doors for check in. Patience is a virtue on Mondays, so leave yourself extra time for camper check in as parents will have questions to answer and possible paperwork to sign. A adult MUST be present at check-in on Mondays!
Pick-up @ PAC: Please meet your camper in the PAC lobby or outside on the lawn. A staff member must visually see an authorized adult picking up each camper (please do not wait in your car).
Authorized Walkers/Bikers: Please send an email to campcoordinator@thepac.center to authorize your child to walk to and/or from The PAC Center. Campers must be dismissed by a staffer before they can head out the door on their own.
Each Wednesday, we send out a "Welcome to Camp" email specific to the upcoming week's theme. It includes which teaching artists are leading camps, upcoming weekly schedule, what-to-pack, last-call for after-care and anything specific for the upcoming theme.
Make sure we are a trusted email source and that these emails GO TO YOUR INBOX! Keep an eye out!
Please list the following as "safe" addresses:

Campers bring their own snacks and lunch. All food will be eaten outside picnic-style (weather-permitting). Lunches should not contain any items that needs to be heated or refrigerated and ideally, stay away from high allergy-risk foods. We also follow school policies and do not allow sharing of food unless campers are related.
Bring a refillable water bottle and please pack reusable containers as we plan to LEAVE NO TRACE!
In the Wednesday Welcome, we'll let you know what allergies may be in camp and foods to avoid for the upcoming week.
LUNCH & SNACKS
(full day campers need an afternoon snack)
Labeled full refillable water bottle
Labeled small backpack
Extra set of clothes (labeled!)
Bug Spray and sunscreen (or use ours, but lather up at home first!)
Closed-toed shoes; sneakers are best (no flip-flops or sandals unless water play is planned)
Wear clothes that can get messy, wet, dusty, tie-dyed or grass-stained. What can we say, it's camp and we won't apologize for the messy fun!
What-NOT-to-pack: Toys, favorite stuffed animals, jewelry, electronics/phones/tablets (unless requested), anything you don't want to lose or leave in the lost and found.
Phones and smartwatches are NOT allowed to be in use during camp hours.
... to make your camper's experience a positive one BUT we need your help! On the camper form that you filled out a registration, we asked if your child has any: allergies, medical conditions, physical limitations and learning needs or diagnosis. We take this information seriously, but often don't receive enough detail. Please consider what information will HELP US allow your child to be successful in our camp setting. Make sure it is up-to-date!
Contact Lisa Oster, Director or our camp managers Megan Laubscher (Media) or Winnie Kenney (PAC) to provide additional context for any situation. We are here to help!
If your child has a one-on-one in the school setting, please contact us to discuss further.
OPEN HOUSE: FRIDAY JUNE 20 from 1 - 3pm
All campers vote on two flavors of water ice from Rita's of Media

Congregation Beth Israel of Media has access to the township walking trails! Campers will head into Hogwarts' Forbidden Forest, scavenge for new Sustainable plant life, race the Olympics Orchard relay and DIY our own fairy doors! Or just enjoy a walk through nature's bounty. Let's go "off-road". Campers must have closed-toed shoes that are able to get wet if we do a creek walk. Info will be sent ahead of time.
To view the trail maps, click here. We'll stick to portions of Linvill and Indian Orchards trails and these are PUBLIC trails, so feel free to walk them yourselves! Recommended public parking: Copes Lane off of 352, next to Indian Orchards.
