This programs are for rising 6th grade to 9th grade youth. Held at Park Avenue Community Center in Swarthmore.

Tuesday Teen Nites

Tuesdays 6:30-8pm, Youth ages 11-15

Held on Tuesdays nights throughout the summer, these workshops offer a perfect opportunity for teens to engage in creative activities, learn new skills, and build lasting friendships in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Teaching Artist: Keville Bowen

D&D Character Paint Nite 

Wednesday July 10, 6:30-8pm

This is a D&D miniature painting event where attendees will get to learn to paint game pieces for Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop roleplaying games. We provide brushes, high quality paints, awesome 3D printed miniatures and step-by-step instruction on how to paint D&D and fantasy miniatures (all included with the price of admission). 

The miniature will be yours to take with you at workshop's end.

Calling all Dungeons & Dragons... the role-playing game that can go on forever... until tonight! With a pre-crafted campaign and character you'll get the thrill of D&D adventure as a standalone session that will conclude in a single game night.

D&D Beginner Adventures

Thursdays July 25 & August 1
Ages 9 - 12 with James Williams

Are you just starting out on the adventure of D&D, the cooperative role-playing game? We have a focused table for younger players who have not played before or who have had limited experience. One-shots are short stories with a self-contained plot that provides a satisfying conclusion by night's end of the night. You'll receive a pre-crafted character and off we go!

Playwriting Workout
for Teens

August 17 - 21, from 9am-4pm
Staged reading set for Friday afternoon
Monolgues, short stories and one-acts... oh my! This writing bookcamp with veteran Playwright Kate McGrath is perfect for youth ages 11-15 who love the written word. Kate will lead various writing prompts and theater-based activites that will help with writer block, calm the waters of too many great ideas to craft the perfect peice to read aloud (or direct someone else too) at week's end.

Teen Yoga 

Look for more info in Fall.

This class aims to empower young people to listen to their bodies by moving in a safe way and finding the power in their voice to build self-confidence. Students can expect to develop tools to help them build their own personal yoga practice, manage feelings of stress and anxiety while exploring basic yoga. Best for ages 12-17.

Beginner and avid players are welcome around our tables for the next campaign. Our Dungeon Masters are long-time D&D enthusiasts and with backgrounds in teaching teen players will be well-supervised as they have a grand night out! 

Beginners Welcome!
This table is perfect for newer players to D&D. Some players have a few campaigns under their belt, so don't be shy to jump right in. Our DM will explain the basics of the game and walk players through creating their initial characters or revising a character and guide them through their first campaign.  

Returning & Avid Players
If you have played before and know the basic etiquette of the game, follow the DM's twist and turns and work together to see where the epic travelers will end up!

We can host up to three tables of 8 players each; 24 total player seats.

ADAM PELTA-PAULS

Adam is a versitle teaching artist with an undergrad and masters in Theatre and Education. He is a lifelong D&D player, loves to build LEGO and is an avid games enthusist. He claims he hasn't played a full campaign in over 20 years because he's such a good DM! P.S. see how good you are to spot him in a feature role in Marvel's Dr. Strange! 

Currently, Adam is the Director of Education at Quintessiance Theatre Company in Philadelphia


AIDAN NOVAK

Aidan has a K-8 teaching degree with a certification in special education from Neumann University. He teaches Kindergarten locally and is an Assistant Scout Master for BSA Troop 85 in Media. Aidan has a regular campaign going with friends and introduces it to the Scouts at summer camp. 

He is TCLR's Summer Camp Manager. 

JAMES WILLIAMS

James is an actor, writer, voice over and teaching artist. Born and raised in Seattle, WA, he lived a couple of years each in Tokyo and Munich with his dad’s work, and traveled a lot in that time. James received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Stonestreet Studios. James most recently taught acting at Next Generation Theatre’s Overnight Camp, and runs Dungeons & Dragon Campaigns for children and adults.

James teaches the D&D Prep: Level 0 after school class for grades 3-5. He is also leading our D&D Level 0 camp week.

THOMAS FINEGAR

A graduate of Bennington College, Thomas works full time as an Educator at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site. Previously they were House Manager at Quintessiance Theatre Company. Thomas is also professional magician  and life-long D&D player and DM. 

Thomas leads our D&D Level 0 camp week and will lead summer tables.

Exploring Digital Art
with Keville Bowen

Fall dates will be posted in August
BYO Tablet and stylus

Understand the basics of perspective and when to use them. Explore various locations from city streets, to forests and other worlds. Learn how to embellish your world with people and artifacts.

Comic Illustrator and Animator Keville Bowen will use his vast knowledge of the world of comics and anime to help anchor the weeks in subjects that are fun and geared toward the the groups interests! 

For Grades 6-12

Dungeon Masters Workshop

Has it be hard to find a Dungeon Master to start a new D&D campaign? Are there too many players and not enough DM's, well, take fate into your own hands and learn the tips and tricks to being a great DM. We welcome newer players and life long players. Bring a few of your D&D friends, so you can share the DM responsibilities. We aim to build the DM pool in order to increase the D&D table play in the future.

This workshop series is for ages 12 through adult. Should have basic knowledge of D&D.
