Finn: Hey Jake have you ever noticed how the food here is kind of weird?
Jake: What do you mean? (eats a giant eyeball)
Finn: Well just look at the breakfast we're eating potatoes, eyeballs, and what I hope is spaghetti.
Jake: well what do you think we should eat
Finn: I don't know let's put our heads together
(Jake and Finn put the heads together literally)
BMO: hey guys do you want to play some video games on me
Finn: oh hi BMO
Jake: we can't talk right now we're trying to think of the perfect food item come on Finn think harder
BMO: why don't you take a break and play some video games that helps me get my mind running
Finn: okay let's just take a little break Jake
Jake: oh okay do you have any new games BMO
BMO: I do it's a game that lets you draw
Finn: oh sounds fun I want to go first (Finn drew a circle and then some details on the circle like squiggly lines close to the edges and then some more circles on the squiggly Circle)
Jake: wow that looks epic what is it
Finn: I don't know I just let my imagination go wild
BMO: I know it's Pizza
Finn & Jake: it's what
BMO: here I'll show you (make a recipe and print it out)
BMO: if you guys get these ingredients I can make a delicious treat
Finn: oh sweet (take the recipe )
Jake: so tell me Finn what's the first ingredient
Finn: it says tomato
Jake: oh I know where to get that follow me
Tree Trunks: oh hey Finn and Jake what's the matter
Jake: we wanted to know if you grow tomatoes
Tree Trunks: in a matter of fact I do here you go
Finn: thanks okay Jake the next thing on the list is dough
Finn: hmm do you think Princess Bubblegum will give us some dough
Jake: Maybe

Doug was walking to the baseball game and saw a dinosaur. He was shocked and didn't know how to react. Then the dinosaur walked over and hit Doug with its tail. He fell to the ground and fainted. The Ankylosaurus creaped closer to Doug as he regained consciousness. He started crying. It started raining. The Ankylosaurus decided to walk away and go back to eating leaves and ferns. Another Ankylosaurus ran in to it. Doug gets into his car and rams into the dinosaurs; however,  they begin chasing him as he drives near the edge of a cliff. The dinosaurs fall off of the cliff. They land on a house in a different planet. A rich alien was living inside the house doing computer work when he heard a loud bang. He was very angry because he was got injured but did not die. Doug takes a stone, puts it on the gas pedal, and runs into the alien to finish the job. Doug goes through the portal to go back to the game. But the portal got mixed up. He tries to figure out the right portal. The portal took him to a stranded island. The island started moving since it was a ginormous turtle. Doug tears a piece of his shirt to grab a black widow spider so he can kill the turtle. The turtle dies and floats to the game. Something falls from the sky. It was couch with his friends telling him we have first class tickets to the game. Dough hops on the couch and it flies to the game.

Let me tell you about myself and how my life is similar and different from Almanzo’s life, from the book Farmer Boy, by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  Almanzo grew up in the 1800’s and I am growing up in the 2000’s, so you can imagine how different we are.  However, you may also be surprised how much we are alike. For example, we have similar schools because we both only have one teacher for multiple classes and all age students are together in one classroom.  A difference between us, is that Almanzo had to walk to school, while I take a car. In the book it states that Almanzo had peers that beat up his teachers, whereas my teacher has students who respect her. This is how kids in the 1800’s had to go to school.

After a long day of school, Almanzo had to walk home. He would go straight to the barn for chores. My afternoon is different because I come home and relax. Some of the chores Almanzo had to do was to take care of the farm animals.  He had to clean soiled hay and spread fresh hay for the animals. On the other hand, I come home from school and relax. Later, I clean my room and take care of other responsibilities.  When Almanzo was finished cleaning, he went inside and got ready for bed while his mom made dinner. One aspect about me and Almanzo that is similar, is we both have good home cooked meals at night.

In the book Farmer Boy, I learned how Almanzo celebrates his birthday. He got to miss school, while I have to go to school every year on my birthday.  Almanzo’s dad handmade a yoke and a sled for his gifts.  Almanzo used the yoke to break the calves, his goal was to earn his father’s trust to eventually train the little horse’s. When he got his gifts, he immediately went outside to try his new sled.  In contrast, my birthdays are focused on spending time with family and friends.  I enjoy experiences more than just gifts.  However, the gifts I do receive are bought form the store not homemade.  Mine and Almanzo’s birthdays are very different from each other.

The next topic in how we differ is our self-care.  Almanzo and his family only bathed on Saturdays because they had to be careful with the amount of water they used.  They each had to fill a small basin before they took a bath, the family member after them dumped it, and filled it for themself. On the other hand, I take showers every morning and I have unlimited water for use.  Saturday evenings Almanzo’s mother had to prepare Sunday’s dinner because they weren’t allowed to cook on Sundays.  In a different way, my grandparents do not prep Sunday’s meal on Saturdays.

Once Sunday begins, my grandma and I go to church, then I spend the afternoon playing with neighbors. In the evening my grandparents cook a nice dinner. However, Almanzo went to church with his 3 siblings, and his parents.  After church Almanzo was told to sit still until it was time for chores.  He looked forward to chores because he got bored from sitting all day.

To sum it up, I am surprised with all the similarities Almanzo, and I have even though we grew up in different centuries.  However, one of the main differences is the fact that Almanzo lived with both his parents, a brother, and two sisters.  He had many farm animals for pets.  On the other hand, I live with my grandparents, and I sometimes see my parents, and little sister on the weekends.  Lastly, my pets are dogs, not farm animals.  Overall, I enjoyed learning about the life of a boy in the 1800’s and I can imagine how difficult his daily life was, which has helped me to reflect on my life and appreciate it more.

The things I like about fall is the leaves changing colors, corn mazes, temperatures getting cooler, candy corns, and pumpkin spice scent. What fall means to me is that I like the color of the leaves on the landscapes in the wonders of nature.
