This book is about a group called the five-find outer which try to solve a mystery of a very valuable cat called Dark Queen. Along their journey they make a good friend called Luke who works as a Gardner for a very mean man called Tupping. Tupping is very cruel as he tries to blame Luke of the robbery when he was plain innocent. However over time they found more and more clues to solve the mystery and surprisingly it was Tupping who committed the crime:the person who blamed Luke. Everything went back to normal and Luke didn't have to work for a evil man like Tupping anymore.
In my opinion I recommend this book for all ages as for me it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Also Enid Blyton gave me a hint of comedy. Furthermore it gave me a roller coaster ride as I was always eager to know who committed the crime of the missing cat.

The Northern Lights is a book set in a different world about a girl called Lyra. she goes on a journey to the north pole to give her uncle an instrument called an alethiometer, it is like a compass but when you ask it a question, it always tells you the truth. the book makes you want to keep reading more and I would recommend it to anyone from 10-14.

It starts off somewhere in the English countryside, Albert's, the main character, drunk dad was at the market. He was told by his friends to start a bid for a golden brown horse with a white patch on its nose. Albert's dad was going to not bid but he realised when his almost enemy started bidding. He knew he had to beat him and he did. When the horse was brought home Albert grew in love with him. Albert's dad used him and Albert to help on the farm. That night Albert stayed with the new horse and named it Joey. The first time they went out farming, it was a bit troubling. But after a few months they both got used to it. A few weeks passed and war began. Albert's dad didn't like joey much so he took the horse to the recruitment centre and dropped him off there. Once Albert knew Joey had been taken to the battlefields of France, Albert knew if he went to war he might reunite with Joey. Later Albert lied about his age and height and was off with the army to fight the Germans.
