Attendance
The Green School for Boys places student well-being at its very core. Regular attendance is most important for all our students to achieve their best in school and we expect all students to have 95% attendance each term. It is important you attend regularly, and on time, every day unless there is an unavoidable reason for your absence.
Why regular attendance is so important:
Learning: Any absence affects your pattern of learning and regular absence may seriously affect your progress and achievement.
Promoting regular attendance: Helping to create a pattern of regular attendance is everybody’s responsibility – parents and carers, students and staff.
Punctuality & Lateness
We expect all of our students to arrive at school, registration, lessons and other appointments made with staff, on time. You are expected to be on time both for the morning and afternoon sessions; poor punctuality is not acceptable. Your parents must advise the school if you are going to be late for any reason.
● The school day begins with registration – you should be in your form rooms by 8.30am.
● The register is taken by form tutors at 8.30am and it is expected that you are sitting in your seat ready with your equipment for the morning.
● Lesson 1 starts promptly at 8.50am .
● You will be classed as late if you arrive after 8.30 am .
● Students who arrive after 8.30am should go to Reception to sign in.
● Students who arrive between 8.30am and 8.40am will receive a 15 minute detention at the end of the day. Those arriving after 8.40am will receive a 30 minute detention at the end of the day.
