Here are the answers to some of the most common questions from your student questionnaire.
Bullying: This is one of the things that all Year 6 students tend to worry about. You are going to go from being the oldest in your school to the youngest and so things will change. But please do not worry. We do not tolerate bullying in any form in our school and we ask every person in the school to follow the Golden Rule - treat others that way that you would want to be treated. Here at TGSB we would encourage you to speak to a member of staff immediately if you feel you are being picked on or being bullied, also if you witness something that doesn't look right. At times the corridors and stairs can be busy, and on occasions you may accidentally get knocked or pushed, but with our new building we have a lot more space and so this should happen less. We have members of staff on duty to ensure a safe and smooth start/end to lessons and at break time so there should always be someone around that you can speak to.
Sports Clubs/Teams: We have lots of co-curricular activities that run most days. If you look at the 'Personal Development' Tab on the menu at the top, you can see what is on offer. Lots of you asked about basketball teams. We have not had the facilities to have a team before - but we certainly will this year.
PE Changing Rooms: We have 2 brand new PE changing rooms which are large open spaces for all boys to get changed in, like you see in Premiership Football!
Sports Facilities: We have a 5 a-side astroturf Sky Pitch on the roof, along with a MUGA pitch on the playground and world class Sports Hall and fitness studio. We also use the facilities at Grasshoppers sports club in Isleworth.
Faith Space: Even though we are a Church of England School we have students from a number of different faiths. Our 'Faith Space' is a welcoming area for boys of all faiths for prayer and reflection. The Faith Space has facilities for boys who need to wash their hands and feet before prayer.
Trips: We have lots of opportunities both within different lessons and as year groups to experience learning outside school on trips. If you look at the 'Personal Development' Tab on the menu at the top, you can see what some of the boys were involved with last year.
How many boys are there in the school?: There will be just over 650 students in the school this year. In Year 7 & 8 we will have 120 boys in 4 Form Groups with 30 students in each group. We also have some students in Year 12&13 mixed with The Green School Sixth Form.
Food: Our meals are cooked freshly every day in school. Our chef provides a non-halal and halal main and a vegetarian main meal. These are available daily in the Green Dining Room. The dining room is open before school for breakfast club, at break for snacks and at lunchtime. Students are also free to bring in packed lunches. Check out the menus from this year on the 'Life at TGSB' tab from the menu at the top, and then click on The Green Dining Room. Please don’t bring any nut based products into school.
