Our class arrived at the Ufresh milk factory on 25.3.2023. We were all excited to learn about how milk was processed and packaged. Our tour guide, a friendly factory employee, greeted us and gave us a brief overview of the factory's history and operations.
We started the tour in the receiving area, where milk trucks arrived to unload their contents into large holding tanks. The milk was tested for quality and then transferred to processing tanks. We learned that the milk was pasteurized, a process where it was heated to a high temperature to kill any harmful bacteria. We also saw how the milk was homogenized, which meant it was mechanically processed to prevent cream from separating from the milk.
Next, we visited the bottling area. We saw the milk being filled into glass bottles and plastic cartons, and we learned about the different packaging options available for customers. We were fascinated to see the machines that could fill hundreds of bottles and cartons in just a few minutes.
After that, we moved on to the packaging and labeling area. Here, we saw how the factory's branding was applied to the milk cartons and bottles. We also learned about the different varieties of milk available, including whole milk, skim milk, and lactose-free milk.
Finally, we were shown the factory's warehouse, where the finished products were stored before being shipped out to local grocery stores and markets. Our tour guide explained how the milk was carefully monitored to ensure it stayed fresh and safe for consumption.
We even viewed a presentation on how the factory started and how they have established themselves in the diary market. We were served with a sweet, thabdi at the end of the tour.
Overall, our visit to the milk factory was an educational and fascinating experience. We were all amazed by the scale of the operation and the intricate processes involved in making milk. We left the factory with a newfound appreciation for the hard work that goes into producing one of our everyday staples.
