Our school organized a field trip to the Balaji Wafer Factory, and I was excited to see how one of my favorite snacks was made. We reached the factory early in the morning and were greeted by the staff members who gave us a brief introduction to the factory and its operations.
We were taken to a viewing gallery that overlooked the factory floor, and we could see the workers in their white coats and hairnets working diligently on the production lines. The machines were whirring and churning out packets of wafer chips at a rapid pace.
Our guide explained the process of making the wafer chips to us. First, the potatoes were washed, peeled, and sliced into thin, even pieces. These slices were then washed again to remove the excess starch and fried in hot oil until they turned crispy and golden brown. The fried chips were then seasoned with a mixture of spices, including salt, pepper, and other flavorings, before being packed into the familiar foil-lined packets that we see on the store shelves.
We were also shown how the packaging was done, with the packets being filled, sealed, and labeled before being placed in cardboard boxes for shipping. The factory had stringent quality control measures in place, with each batch of chips being tested for taste, texture, and freshness.
After the tour, we were taken to the auditorium where we were showed a few of their advertises, their establishment and growth video. Then we were given guidance by Mr. Kanubhai Virani, the technical expert of the Balaji Factory.
We were treated to two new products of the Balaji Factory, a wafer packet and a protein bar. We also got a chance to purchase some packets of the chips to take home with us.
Overall, the visit to the Balaji Wafer Factory was a fun and informative experience, and I gained a newfound appreciation for the hard work and attention to detail that goes into making my favorite snack.
