ABT (Activity Based Test) will be based on activities done in the class/lab and students may or may not be required to prepare for the Test depending on the type of activity.
Activity-based tests may include any of the following:
Quizzes, Group discussion, Experiments conducted in labs, Research, Competitions, Group Assignments, Individual assignments, Identifying specimens, Student-generated questions, Student journal, Creative writing, Extempore speaking, ‘What if’ questions, Model making, Field tour, Open-book test
Skills that may be tested by activity-based tests:
Self-awareness, Problem-solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Inter-personal skills, Empathy, Managing stress, Communication, Initiative
Guidelines for pen-paper tests:
Students will be allowed to carry question papers after the test/examination is over.
Questions may be based on different levels (of Bloom’s Taxonomy) with a greater emphasis on higher levels.
Retest may be allowed as per the policy. (NIOS policy document).

For grades 8,9,11, Pre Nios as per the task assigned and the required guidelines given by the respective teachers.
Guidelines for assessing a project:
· A project will be assessed on a minimum of four parameters.
· Preferably, the parameters will be based on the higher level of Blooms’ Taxonomy. (For e.g. Evaluating and
Creating)
· The weightage of the parameters may be different.
