Common Accessibility Features

High-Contrast Mode (inverted colors)

High contrast mode is an accessibility feature that can help the visually impaired to browse and read the contents of their computer. When high contrast mode is enabled, the colors are basically reversed.

High contrast mode can be enabled/disabled by following the steps below. The user may need to log out in order to see the Accessibility button.

Alternatively, the user may simultaneously press CTRL + Search button + H to enable/disable this feature.

Click on the time at the bottom right corner, then click Accessibility.

In the list of Accessibility features, click High contrast mode.


Fullscreen Magnifier (entire screen is magnified)

Fullscreen magnifier is an accessibility feature that zooms the entire screen to allow the user to find items on their Chromebook screen better. This feature will cut off some of the screen.

Fullscreen magnifier can be enabled/disabled by following the steps below. The user may need to log out in order to see the Accessibility button.

Alternatively, the user may simultaneously press CTRL + Search button + M to enable/disable this feature.

Click on the time at the bottom right corner, then click Accessibility.

In the list of Accessibility features, click Fullscreen magnifier.


Docked Magnifier (part of screen is magnified)

Docked magnifier is an accessibility feature that zooms where the mouse cursor is pointed displaying the section at the top of the screen. This allows the user to find items on their Chromebook screen better. This feature will cut off some of the screen.

Docked magnifier can be enabled/disabled by following the steps below. The user may need to log out in order to see the Accessibility button.

Alternatively, the user may simultaneously press CTRL + Search button + D to enable/disable this feature.

Click on the time at the bottom right corner, then click Accessibility.

In the list of Accessibility features, click Docked magnifier.
