TETTA自身が育った街・藤沢を舞台にした三十三観音。
飲食店を営む方々を中心に、アーティストやDJ、農家など様々な職業の方々にご協力いただき、三十三ヶ所、計58名の観音さまが誕生しました。仏像は時代の流行や最先端の技術を反映してつくられてきた「時代の鏡」のような存在です。中でも観音さまは「人々を救い、文化を守り、伝えていく象徴」として、私の中で特別な意味を持っています。観光地としてにぎわう江ノ島、美しい海や自然、何でも受け入れるおおらかさ、週末ごとにパーティが開かれるような藤沢の活気。そんな魅力あふれる街と人々の姿を、観音さまというかたちで現代の文化として表現しました。
Fujisawa 33 Kannon . Fujisawa city where TETTA herself grew up. With the cooperation of people in fujisawa city from various professions—primarily restaurant owners, but also artists, DJs, farmers, and others—a total of 58 Kannon statues were created across thirty-three locations. Buddhist statues are like “mirrors of their times,” reflecting the fashions and cutting-edge technologies of their eras. Among them, Kannon holds special meaning for me as a symbol that saves people, protects culture, and passes it on. The bustling tourist destination of Enoshima, the beautiful sea and nature, the open-heartedness that embraces anything, the vibrant energy of Fujisawa where parties happen every weekend. I expressed the image of this charming city.

大宮の様々な職種・特に飲食店の方三十三ヶ所・71名をモデルにした三十三観音。大宮の現代の文化やまちの活気を伝えるこの作品は、その歴史や伝統を幾世代にも渡り大切に引き継ぎながらも、現代にあった活気のあるまちづくりをしている大宮のすばらしさを感じることができる。旧大宮区役所ほか、31件の店舗内に写真を設置。観覧者は作品を探しに行くことで大宮のまちを回遊することができる。※本作品はさいたま国際芸術祭2020にて制作されたものです。"Omiya 33 Kannon” attempts to materialize the characteristics of the Kannon “as a symbol of that which saves the people, protects culture, and is to be inherited,” and invites various people working in Omiya to be transformed into Kannons and be photographed. These photographs are displayed in the respective places in which they work throughout the duration of the Triennale. By actually going to these stores and engaging with the photographs of the Kannons, visitors are able to experience the various charms that serve to enrich and animate the city of Omiya.Artist applies makeup to herself as if making an oil painting and transform herself into Bodhisattv a, and later visits numerous places in Omiya city where "Omiya 33-Kannon” was originally planned to be exhibited. Photos taken at those places will be displayed in the exhibition area. We hope visitors will take this opportunity to embrace the extraordinary experience of walking the streets of Omiya as bodhisattvas.0※This work was commissioned by Saitama Triennale 2020

春の足利で観音さまたちが、5つの史跡や名所を巡りました。 「人々を救い、文化を守り、伝えゆくものの象徴」である観音が、足利の魅力を紹介しています。あしかがアートクロス 2019 出品作品。
In Ashikaga in the spring, Kannon visited five historical sites and famous places.The Kannon, "a symbol of saving people, preserving culture, and passing it on," introduces the charms of Ashikaga. This work was exhibited at Ashikaga Art Cross 2019.
「物外軒庭園」足利において幕末から昭和時代前半に繁栄した豪商の庭園
Butsugaihaken Garden: The garden of a wealthy merchant who prospered in Ashikaga from the
end of the Edo period to the early Showa period.
「織姫神社」 産業振興の神、縁結びの神として祀られている。鮮やかな朱塗りの社殿が特徴。登録有形文化財。
Orihime Shrine：The shrine is enshrined as a god of industrial promotion and marriage. The vivid vermilion-lacquered shrine hall is a distinctive feature. Registered as a tangible cultural property.
「鑁阿寺」鎌倉時代に足利義兼によって建立された真言宗大日派の本山。大日如来を祀る。本堂は国宝。
Banna-ji temple：The head temple of the Dainichi sect of Shingon Buddhism, founded by Ashikaga Yoshikane in the Kamakura period. The temple is dedicated to Dainichi Nyorai. The main hall is a national treasure.
「足利学校」 平安時代初期（もしくは鎌倉時代）に創設されたと伝えられる日本最古の学校。（国指定史跡）現在は江戸時代の頃の姿を復元したもの。
Ashikaga School：The oldest school in Japan, said to have been founded in the early Heian period (or Kamakura period). (National Historic Site)The present building is a reconstruction of what it looked like in the Edo period.
「渡良瀬川」 北関東を流れる利根川水系利根川支流の一級河川。夕焼けが美しい。
Watarase River：A first-class river in the Tone River system, a tributary of the Tone River that flows through the northern Kanto region. Beautiful at sunset.

観音菩薩は「怖いことや災いのない状態を人々に施してくれるもの」であり、人々や文化を守り、伝えゆくものの象徴であるとされる。 中之条のシンボルである霊山嵩山には、僧・空閑と地域の人々が嵩山合戦の犠牲者を供養するために江戸時代に建立した坂東三十三観音が存在する。 会津三十三観音、西国三十三観音など、日本各地に多くの「三十三観音」が存在し、そのすべてを巡ることで「願い」が叶うと言われている。2017 年4月から7月の間、町に滞在し観音様として現れた町民を、それぞれの思いの深い場所で撮影した。 自然豊かで、多数の温泉地、コバルトブルーの美しい四万湖などの観光地としても有名な中之条町。中之条の人々は、住んでいるまちをとても愛し、 大切にしている。新しく生まれた「中之条三十三観音」は、今の中之条を保存するとともに、新しい出会いが生まれ、地域の活性につながることを 目的とする。
"There is always a Buddha in the heart of every person."
Kannon Bodhisattva is said to be "the one who provides people with a state free from fear and misfortune" and is a symbol of something that protects and passes on people and culture.The sacred mountain of Mt. Bulk, a symbol of Nakanojo, is home to the Bando 33 Kannon, which was built in the Edo period by the monk Kukan and local people to memorialize the victims of the Battle of Bulk. There are many other "33 Kannon" throughout Japan, including the 33 Aizu Kannon and the 33 Saigoku Kannon, and it is said that visiting all of them will make your "wish" come true. Between April and July 2017, I stayed in the town and photographed the townspeople who appeared as the Kannon, each in a place that is deeply dear to their hearts. Nakanojo Town is famous for its rich nature, numerous hot springs, and beautiful cobalt blue Lake Shima. The people of Nakanojo love and cherish the town in which they live. The newly created "Nakanojo 33 Kannon" aims to preserve Nakanojo as it is today, as well as to create new encounters and revitalize the community.
