Bar/Bat Mitzvah 

Dear Families:

I wanted to remind your kids that in preparation for their upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah, they should be learning their 4  blessings, (before and after Torah and before and after Haftarah). The recordings I’ve made are below for easy listening and the text files are the same as their books.

If your child has not determined what they’d like to do for a mitzvah project, I might suggest helping the wonderful Abayudaya community in Uganda. They are an amazing and tenacious group of African Jews who have been hit very hard by Covid; vaccines in rural Africa are hard to come by.

Their spiritual leader, Rabbi Gershom Sizomu was our guest a few months ago via Zoom during a Shabbat service. Contact rabbigershom@gmail.com to make donations or to place orders.

The women hand make beautiful kippot and jewelry.  If you order from them you’d be providing work as well as providing beautiful kippot for your son or daughter’s special day. Of course they are always in need of donations as well.
