WHO WE ARE
The Nancy & Donald Resnick Academic Support Center (RASC) provides academic support to the University's student-athletes. We provide tutoring in subjects including, but not limited to, Business, Math/Stat, Science (BIO/CHEM/PHYS), Writing, Advertising, Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Sociology. Tutoring sessions occur either once or twice a week in either one-on-one or small group sessions. Tutors make $12-15 per hour.
PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
Our mission: “Through consistent weekly meetings, our tutoring staff forms supportive relationships with their assigned student-athletes in order to assist them in improving content knowledge, study skills and confidence in their subject matter leading to greater performance in the course(s).”
Tutors are to serve as an extension of the Resnick Academic Center full-time staff and to uphold the standards of Temple University in the highest possible regard. Tutors at the Resnick Academic Center are dynamic individuals who are comfortable working with a diverse student population. They are to work continuously with their assigned caseload throughout the course of a semester to develop a comprehensive skill set within the subject they are tutoring. Resnick Academic Center tutors should be able to develop effective working relationships with their students, problem solve, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Tutor Role: 1) Be knowledgeable of course content; 2) Be on time for sessions;
3) Adhere to Cancellation Policy; 4) Communicate with Resnick Staff and assigned student-athletes
