Measurement Wrap Up

Wrap Up and Next Steps

WATCH: Thanks

TASK: Exploring the Ontario Curriculum

Explore the measurement expectations, from grades 1-10 of the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum. How does our learning about units, direct measurement, area, the metric system and conversions connect to the various grade levels?

NEXT STEPS: Building an Action Plan

This is probably the most significant time of the session: What can you do in between sessions 2 and 3 to help your students strengthen their understanding of units, direct measurement, area, the metric system and conversion?

Reflect

Think back the ideas and resources used from sessions 1 and 2. Below is a list of all the diagnostic tasks, associated readings for additional background information and some sample learning tasks to help close gaps and build understanding.

Make a Plan

Talk about what you might do between now and when we're together again. Maybe there are some students that you're curious about. Or a task you'd like to try. Talk it over with your team and record your ideas in your Action Plan template.

Share

Let us know what you're thinking in the Collaborative Notebook and we'll look forward to hearing how it went next time we're together.
