During lunch visits, school counselors take time to connect with students in a relaxed and informal setting. We walk around the cafeteria, sit with students, and engage in casual conversations to build positive relationships and help students feel comfortable with us. These visits give us the opportunity to check in on how students are doing socially and emotionally, encourage healthy peer interactions, and make ourselves available if they ever need support. Our presence during lunch is not about counseling sessions, but simply about being visible, approachable, and fostering a welcoming school environment.
