Fingerprinting and Drug Testing

To be hired as a teacher within Miami-Dade County Public Schools, you must clear FBI Fingerprints and Drug Testing. Xavier will extend an invitation to fingerprint and drug test when you are eligible. Therfore, you must wait until Xavier prompts you to begin this process. Typically, fingerprinting will occur in one location alongside other corps members.

BOTH OF THESE SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE IN-PERSON TRAINING IN MIAMI BEGINS

Guidance for fingerprinting is as follows:

• You will need your credit/debit card to pay $71. No personal checks will be accepted.

• All applicants must present a current official picture identification such as a driver's license, passport, or State of Florida identification card AND a valid social security card.

Guidance for drug testing is as follows:

• Within two days of receiving your personalized form from Xavier, you must take this form to one of the drug testing facilities that partners with M-DCPS. There are 6 across the county.

• There is a lab by the Port of Miami that is open on Saturdays until 1pm.
