Welcome to Miami! We are so excited to have you here. As you prepare to start teaching, use this page as a guide for learning about what to would be like to live in Miami, especially if you’re moving to Miami for the first time!
This page is intended to give a bit of background knowledge about life in the 305 as well as include links to more in-depth information about each neighborhood. Each neighborhood link will have further information regarding that area: CM testimonials, hot spots to visit, buildings to live in, etc.
Many Corps Members chose to live with roommates to offset costs. Living with roommates allows CMs to remain more central, and closer to the heart of Miami. If you plan to live with roommates closer to the city center, expect to pay between $1000-$1400, depending on which room you snag.
For CMs who wish to live solo, you may need to venture out further from the city center. Living further north, south, or west allows CMs to flourish on their own. CMs living solo should still expect to pay minimum $1800 - $2200.
Based on survey results, CMs have an average of 2.4 roommates; only 18% live solo.
