Once you join the corps, you are a part of a network of over 50,000 leaders across the globe who believe in an equitable education for all students. Check out the different ways to stay active as an alum aligned to your interests!
Once given an offer to join us in Hawai'i, a potential future corps member has many questions about our work here in Hawai'i. Folks who join us often say that talking to a corps member or alum living in Hawai'i was a helpful resource while they made their decision. Join our team of folks willing to talk story and connect with incoming corps members. Reach out to Jackie Scanlan to get involved.
Hui leads will act as community builders and stewards of a small cohort or “hui” of new accepts, who will likely be a blend of folks from Hawai‘i and those new to Hawai‘i. In monthly gatherings and beyond, you will help incoming corps members foster a sense of community, deepen their commitment to Hawai’i and help them build a support network as they make the transition into the corps. Reach out to Jackie Scanlan to get involved.
Content Specialists are current teachers who use their expertise in their content area to provide professional development and guidance to our first year teachers through our Alternative Route to Credential (ARC) Program.
Recruitment for Content Specialist has passed for this school year. Be on the lookout in the spring for more information and feel free to express your interest now by emailing Alyson Emrick.
Our corps members always value the skills and knowledge that alumni are willing to share. Throughout the year, join us as a facilitator during our TFAmily Days (you might remember them being called ProSats, PD Saturdays, All Corps Days, etc.)
Our alumni advisory board is comprised of passionate alumni who help drive and influence change in our region.
Join our local Prism chapter which seeks to support LGBTQ+ students and teachers here in Hawai'i.
Hearing directly from the students and teachers is by far the most impactful way that we are able to share collective work of our network. Show your support of TFA Hawaiʻi by sharing your stories during various events throughout the year to help us continue our work.
