KUSD New Educator Program: Mission and Vision
Mission: The Mission of the KUSD New Educator Induction Program is to create a system of long-term support for new educators to the district, engaging them in job-embedded professional learning that elevates educator practice and increases educator retention in the district.
Vision: The Vision of the KUSD New Educator Program is to develop and retain highly qualifed educators that provide excellent, challenging learning opportunities and experiences that prepare each student for success.
Kenosha Unified School District understands that educator quality and effective instruction is the most important determinant of student success. Educators new to the profession are not expected to be master educators their first day on the job; however, they are expected to engage in deep, ongoing reflection to determine the impact of their instruction on student outcomes. Additionally, they need to reflect, learn, and make changes to their practice with the goal of all students reaching grade level expectations. During their first five years in KUSD, new educators will engage in targeted, ongoing support focused on building their capacity to measure their success and enhance their practice.
