Be sure to use the resources linked and review the mentoring documentation for additional tools to support your mentees. Keep track of your monthly discussion using this note catcher. Don't forget to check-in with your new educator- 45 minutes a month per M2 New Educator.
Mentors also receive Ongoing Support Sessions: September 18, and January 29 from 4:30 - 6:00 PM at the ESC. (optional to attend)

Exchange personal phone numbers
Send an encouraging note, email, text, etc. to mentees regarding the upcoming year
Engage mentees in self-assessment to help them identify their priority areas
Complete mentoring partnership agreement for each mentee
Using self-assessment results, support mentees in setting a goal in one of the cluster areas using the collaborative teaching and learning logs.
Discuss and support mentees with SLO and PPG development

Review monthly/district building activities & Support mentees in reflecting upon the year using the Reflection Journal VI from Mentoring Matters
Support mentees in identifying professional learning opportunities for the summer and following school year (e.g. KUSD Professional Learning Catalog, Study Groups, books and articles, etc.)
Guide the mentees in entering all required information into Frontline to close the Educator Effectiveness Cycle
Guide new teacher through closing up the year, including guidance on returning supplies, cleaning room, and other end of the requirements and expectations of the building
Celebrate growth and successes from this year!
