Below are some topics for discussion for each monthly meeting. Be sure to use the resources linked and review the mentoring documentation for additional tools to support your mentees. Keep track of your monthly discussion using this note catcher. Don't forget to check-in with your new educator- up to 75 minutes a month per M1 New Educator.
Mentors also receive Ongoing Support Sessions: September 18, and January 29 from 4:30 - 6:00 PM at the ESC. (optional to attend)

Discuss student behavior challenges prior to winter break and following winter break
Discuss logistics and concerns related to upcoming testing (ACCESS, FORWARD, ACT, etc.)

Discuss upcoming Educator Effectiveness observations and formal observations, walk-throughs, etc.

Complete and Turn in Quarter 3 Completion Document - Due Mar. 27
Share & bring each other up-to-date on what has been happening in your classroom
Review monthly district/building activities
Review testing schedule, testing procedures & suggestions for a conducive testing environment
Begin discussion of end-of-year review for SLO, PPG and uploading artifacts for Domains 1 & 4
Reflect on what the mentees have accomplished and what their instructional goals are for the rest of the school year.
Become aware of professional organizations in your discipline or area of interest
Schedule meeting in April
Share & bring each other up-to-date on what has been happening in your classroom
Review monthly district/building activities
Discuss procedures for end of year events, ordering, field trips, etc. Review information from meetings for clarification, etc.
Support mentee in final preparation of end of cycle SLO/ PPG artifacts and reflections
Discuss strategies to relax and take time to unwind (e.g. meditation, box breathing, permission slips)

Complete and Turn in Quarter 4 Completion Document - Due May 22
Share & bring each other up-to-date on what has been happening in your classroom
Review monthly district/building activities
Support mentees in reflecting upon the year using the Reflection Journal VI from Mentoring Matters
Support mentees in identifying professional learning opportunities for the summer and following school year (e.g. KUSD Professional Learning Catalog, Study Groups, books and articles, etc.)
Discuss procedures for closing up the end of the school year - room preparation, student records, report cards, inventories, etc.
Guide the mentees in entering all required information into Frontline to finalize the Educator Effectiveness Cycle
