How do I disable/enable student access To disable access to the student software for one or all of your classes, do the following: Log into the Teacher portal Click the "Classes" tab Click the "Status" option from "Active" to "Paused" Note: To make the class active again, click "Paused" back to "Active"
If a student is logged on, "time spent typing" only gets calculated when a student actually types. A student can be logged on, yet sitting idle, and he/she will not get credit for time spent typing. The only other scenario is the possibility that her machine had a "disconnect" to our server (even if it was only for a second or two). If there is a hiccup in your connection, the user can still work, yet on the back-end, the data is not being collected and the student has no way of knowing that this occurred.
Edutyping offers a variety of games that can be turned on/off for students through the teacher portal. Take a look at the slideshow linked to the left to get detailed recommendations and instructions for the EduTyping games.
In addition, students can work through the sentence and paragraph levels when they've completed the letter sessions. Students should also be practicing keyboarding skills when completing assigned writing tasks for class.
Teachers can share the EduTyping parent information letter at fall conferences. In addition, you can print reports to send home so that parents are aware of their student's progress in Edutyping. Remind parents in your school newsletter that students can access and practice Edutyping at home through Classlink on any laptop or desktop computer.
