Some staff in KUSD will be transitioning to Chromebooks for their teaching devices as of Summer 2026. Teachers at the four boundary middle schools will be the first teachers to transition. Due to software requirements, some positions will not be transitioned to a Chromebook Plus, including Fine Arts (MacBook), PLTW, counselors, deans, and principals. Some staff may also have transitioned to Chromebook Plus devices as a result of being in a pilot or per request for easy use of Class Tools.

In this course, you will learn to use a Chromebook to facilitate a day of learning, create engaging content for students, and streamline classroom management with Class tools. At the end of this course, you will be prepared to use built-in Chromebook features to design and deliver powerful instructional experiences for your students.

Teachers will provide digital learning opportunities that engage students and demonstrate evidence of their learning.
Utilize a learning platform to enhance instruction. Google Classroom will be available for grades 3-12. The learning platform should be used to communicate daily work (discussed content, assignments, etc.) for students to access when absent.
Use ClassLink to provide access to online textbooks, applications and library resources.
Utilize the available technology device to create content, access collaborative digital tools for meaningful learning activities, interact with experts, and participate in global connections.
Understand laws and utilize best practices related to digital citizenship, accessibility, and student data privacy.
