Breakout EDU is an immersive learning platform offering educational games similar to escape rooms to teach critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving, usable for remote or in-person learning across all student ages. Key features include a game library with digital and physical kit-based games, the ability to customize or create games, educator resources, flexible activity lengths.

Class Tools is a new suite of real-time control and student engagement features for teachers. These tools allow teachers to share and pin content, remotely view student screens, and utilize accessibility features like live captions and translations to enhance focus and learning.
At this time, using Class Tools is a self-directed initiative, however below are two tutorials that can support staff who want to explore and implement Class Tools in their classrooms.
Currently, any teacher who would like to use Class Tools with their students is welcome to do so. To get started, staff will need to ask their TST for a Chromebook.
Purpose: Turn passive viewing into engaged viewing. The process is simple - find a video, add questions and assign it to your class. Watch as they progress and hold them accountable on their learning journey.

The Read&Write literacy extension supports all students and provide them with the tools they need to achieve more in reading and writing. Parts of Read&Write may look familiar, as many CoWriter and Snap&Read features were merged with Read&Write.
What is Read&Write? Read&Write is a literacy support toolbar that has been proven to improve students’ reading and writing skills.
Read&Write was created with Universal Design for Learning in mind. All students and staff in KUSD have access to Read&Write through their KUSD Google account. With features including text-to-speech, dictionary tools, text prediction and voice notes, it supports a diverse range of learners in class, at home and during study.
Where can I use the Read&Write toolbar? Working seamlessly with virtually any type of educational content—such as websites, PDFs and Google Classroom documents, including Docs, Slides, and more—Read&Write helps ensure that every student can access the tools they need, where they need them. How do my students and I get Read&Write? The district pushed out the Read&Write extension to all students, making it available in their extension toolbar. For staff, please go to the Chrome Web Store and download the Read&Write extension.

Purpose: Screencastify is a tool for recording, editing, and sharing video content, primarily used by educators to create instructional materials, assignments, and on-demand lessons for students. It allows users to capture their desktop, a browser tab, or a webcam, and the recorded videos can be quickly edited with features like trimming, annotation, and text overlays. Screencastify also enables students to create and submit video assignments, fostering skill practice and comprehension, with options to add interactive questions to videos for assessment.
