Students will be introduced to creative crafts that can be developed into an art. The practical nature of this course is beneficial to those students who are interested in a hands on approach, as well as gaining new knowledge and skills that may provide income in the future. This course is designed to wet the appetite of students who enjoy making practical art, teach students the difference between art and craft, and how to turn a craft into an art form. Along with practical applications, students will be introduced to the history of the media studied and its use in today’s society, current trends and where possible, artists who work in the field.
NOTE: Grade 11 Crafts is an "Open" course but the recommended prerequisite is
Grade 9 Art (AVI 101), Grade 10 Art (AVI 201), and/or Grade 10 Media Art (ASM 201)
