GLE2O – Learning Strategies 1: Skills for Success in Secondary School, Grade 10, Open
In grades 9 and 10, the Learning Strategies course provides students with tools to manage their education and become independent, self-advocating learners. By focusing on the development and hands-on application of academic and life skills—including literacy, numeracy, organization, and teamwork—students can see immediate improvements in their school achievement. This course helps to builds student confidence and motivation, ensuring they are well-prepared and eager to pursue various opportunities throughout their high school career and future endeavors.

In grades 11 and 12, the Advanced Learning Strategies course helps students master the advanced learning and personal-management skills necessary for a successful transition to work, training, or higher education. Students will master their potential by conducting self-assessments, investigations, and refining their literacy, numeracy, and research skills. They will investigate post-secondary trends and exit the course with a plan to achieve their long-term career and learning goals.
