It is the shared responsibility of guidance counsellors, students and parents to ensure that diploma requirements are being met from year to year. Parent/Guardians may make an appointment to discuss any concerns they may have regarding their child by phoning the Guidance Department at 416-393-0284, extension 20040 or by calling counsellors directly.
We offer counselling in a friendly, non-judgmental environment, in the following areas:
Academic Counselling: Students can talk to their counsellor regarding course selection options, problems with a course, extra help or any other academic issue, in addition to planning for post secondary pathways.
Career Counselling: Guidance counsellors help students understand the pathways to the many career options available, including questions about which courses are needed in high school for a particular career, the other (non-academic) entrance requirements, such as portfolios, supplementary application forms and requirements for apprenticeship programs.
Personal Counselling: Guidance counsellors are always available when students need to talk about personal issues that they need help with, in a warm, non-judgmental and confidential environment. Guidance can refer students to our school social worker or help students find other supports in the community.
