SMOKING/VAPING

All school properties in Ontario are smoke-free, under the terms of the Tobacco Control Act. Students smoking or holding a lit cigarette on school property face legal sanctions or fines. School property extends to the sidewalk on all sides of the school.

Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 - Smoking and vaping is not allowed in public and private schools, including the grounds associated with the school, and public areas within 20 metres of any point on the perimeter of the grounds of the school.

HEALTH SERVICES

In the case of a medical emergency, please report to the VP office. Our school Social Worker counsels students for personal problems arising out of family and academic situations, and can also facilitate contact with other social agencies. Appointments may be made through the Vice-Principal or Guidance office.

LOCKERS

Each student will be assigned a locker for the duration of his/her time at Northern. The Toronto District School Board does not accept any responsibility for articles missing from lockers. Valuables should be left at home. Thefts or locker break-ins must be reported to the Vice-Principal’s office as soon as possible.

PARKING

The school parking lots are reserved for Toronto District School Board staff. There is no student parking on school property.

TEXTBOOKS and LIBRARY BOOKS

All books must be returned in good condition. Lost or damaged books must be paid for prior to the end of the school year.
