Northern offers a variety of clubs, associations and activities in which students may become involved. The following is a partial list of the many organizations currently active at Northern. Staff Advisors and clubs change from time to time. All clubs are set up early in each school year and must have a staff advisor and be approved by Student Council before being formed and advertised.

Objectives:
The Gender Sexuality Alliance Association aims to provide a safe and positive space for all students regardless of sexuality or gender identity, as well as to raise awareness of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning (LGBTQ) issues in the community and in school with the goal of widening acceptance.

The GSAA has been a significant fixture at Northern since 1990
Anti-homophobia workshops are held for the Grade 9s every year
