I would check the website often for updates. The best time to check it is Monday morning as I usually update it over the weekends. When I update it, I will post the day, time, and what was updated, above.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our class website! I'm really excited about this year, and I'm confident that if we all work together, we will have a fantastic year. I strongly encourage you to check our website on a regular basis. Major updates are usually done on the weekends (e.g., Sunday night), but I also do minor updates throughout the week. Whenever I update a page, I will post what has been updated along with the date and time at the top of this page.
Our website will provide you with valuable information, such as:
1. Weekly homework expectations via Google Classroom.
2. Useful tips for parents and students (e.g., tips on how and what to study).
3. A gallery of student work.
5. Downloadable files (e.g., checklists) that your child can print and use at home.
6. Audio and video files.
Parents/Guardians: A gentle reminder that all students should be outside in the Junior Yard by 8:40 a.m. so that they can enter together, as a class at Door 5 when the bell rings.
Please ensure that your child is in line with the students at 8:40 a.m. sharp.
Supervision starts in the Junior Yard at 8:30 a.m., so you can drop your child off anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. Before dropping your child off, please ensure that you see a staff member (in an orange safety vest) in the playground.
Students will be permitted to drink from the water fountains or use the fill up stations.
Please ensure that your child brings a reusable, plastic water bottle that they can use throughout the day.
It is very, very important that you label all of your child's personal items. Please ensure that shoes, articles of clothing, water bottles, pencil cases, knapsacks, etc. are all clearly labeled with your child's name and room number (212).
In addition to the report cards and our conferences throughout the year, I am always available to meet or speak with you. If you wish to contact me, and it is not urgent, please jot a note in your child’s planner and I will respond as soon as possible. I will always ask the students in the morning if they have any notes that they need to show me, and I will respond immediately. After reading my response, please initial it so that I know that you've seen it. In return, I will contact you by note or telephone if there is something that I’d like to discuss. It is very important to check your child’s planner and homework every evening because you will usually find important notes from me and/or the school, along with your child’s homework expectations for that evening/week.
