Stratford

Each year in October, students can go on an overnight trip to Stratford, towards the end of the Stratford Festival. Over two action-packed days, the students see 3 plays, typically including a Shakespeare adaptation and a musical. A typical day would involve wandering the town with friends, taking lots of photos, and eating out at one of the many restaurants downtown. In addition, the Grade 9 TOPS class may get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Festival Theatre and understands how the plays are brought to life. Over the course of their English class, some grades may refer to and analyze the performances that they watched. The experience is intended to be a fun and educational break from the hectic TOPS life, and forges lasting memories among the TOPS students.
