and Kids
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. One doesn't have to wait for a crisis to work on their mental health.
We believe that when we have mentally healthy parents, children and teachers, we have truly healthy communities.

Keys to taking care of yourself & others
•Taking care of your body; take deep breaths, stretch, eat healthy, exercise, sleep well, other strategies that work for you
•Take care of your mind and feelings; use calming strategies; mindfulness techniques, practice positive self-talk
•Create a supportive environment; make time to socialize, plan special activities, support each other in the other person’s interests
The Stress Curve
Stress in and of itself isn’t negative. The problems come with the amount of stress someone experiences.
It should also be noted that the “optimal stress level” (the green zone) is variable not only from person to person but from situation to situation.
For us to be mentally healthy, we need a bit of stress that pushes us, challenges us to be better and stimulates our minds.
