Session Description
Join us to explore a variety of STEAM-related activities that you can replicate in your classroom with your students.
Helping Harriet
Harriet, a bald eagle, slipped and fell out of her nest. She landed on the ground below the nest and needs your help to get back into the nest. Using the materials provided to you, build a structure that Harriet can balance on so she can jump back into the nest. Use the Engineer Design Process.
Lunar Orbiter
Congratulations! You have been hired by NASA to join a team of engineers to create a LRO prototype. NASA need your help to explore the moon's surface and environment. Design a compact orbiter to travel in space to record the moon's images, temperature, radiation, and more. Remember, be creative and have fun!

Students explain "foolish" phrases. I think they did pretty well. What's your favorite "foolish" quote for April Fool's Day?
Meet your new neighbors, the Zombinoffs. Don’t worry, they’re very friendly vegetarians from planet Zombinoid. Students mix and match their Jamboard parts to create fraction problems. Watch the video and post the name of your favorite Zombinoff family member. Mine is Sharplean.
This fairy tale Jamboard gives students practice in Jamboard features as well as problem solving. I’ve included 13 different fairy tale characters! Interested?

This website is so awesome! The two-statement scenario spurs debate, discussion, reasoning, and writing in the math classroom. The questions are separated into four grade levels: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
For the Would You Rather activity - try putting a STEAM spin on it.
