Brebeuf College Religion Department Walking in Christ:

An Overview of our Pastoral Plan 2021-2024

Catholic schools are built on the relationships between our families, our parishes, our staff and our students and all of us who share a strong commitment to Catholic education.

Our TCDSB community continues to reflect our Catholic values, rooted in the love of Christ, through our everyday actions. We each have a unique and important role to play in bringing our pastoral plan to life in our schools, offices, and the greater community.

Let us continue to demonstrate our commitment to student success and well-being, and a devotion to our Catholic faith as we walk with Christ throughout the next three years.

Year 1: with eyes of faith and hope

Through eyes of faith and hope, we are invited to realize our Catholic call to service as we continue to be caring, compassionate and faithful members of our global community.

Year 2: with hearts of kindness and love

With hearts of kindness and love, we walk with Christ on the path of charity, deepening our sense of understanding, belonging and care for one another in our parishes, our homes, our schools and the greater community.

Year 3: with minds of justice and peace

With minds of justice and peace, we are called to demonstrate advocacy with courage and wisdom, and take important steps to promote equity, acceptance and belonging to create a kinder, more inclusive world.

Religion Courses

Brebeuf is a Catholic Secondary School. As such, formal courses in religion are taught at every grade level. All Brebeuf students take a religion course for each year from Grades 9-12. This is in accordance with the policy of the Archdiocese of Toronto, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and Brebeuf College School. For those graduating, a Grade 12 Religion credit is required in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Retreats are held once a year in every religion course. Retreat days are considered a regular school day. Attendance is mandatory and parental support is expected.

Religion Class Retreats will be taking place in our Chaplaincy Center and Chapel or at Blessed Trinity Parish.

St. Ignatius of Loyola - Generosity Prayer

Lord, teach me to be generous.

Teach me to serve you as you deserve,

To give and not to count the cost,

To fight and not to heed the wounds,

To toil and not to seek for rest,

To labor and ask not for reward,

Except the reward of knowing that I am doing your will.

Amen.
