High Frequency Word Lists

High Frequency Words are the most commonly used words found in printed and digital texts. They are often phonetically irregular - meaning sometimes, it proves to be quite tricky to 'sound out' a high frequency word or even define them at times! Because of the abstract  nature of high frequency words, it is important for children to quickly recognize these commonly used words when they see them. Often times the terms 'High Frequency Word' and 'Sight Word' are interchangeably used! A sight word is a word that can be read quickly and automatically by sight!
