The 2025-2026 North Central District Awards Packet is a comprehensive guide that includes the descriptions, deadlines, and requirements of the awards offered by the North Central District Council. It is recommended that Chapters answer application questions on the provided templates, and then convert their document to a PDF for final submission.
Supplemental materials such as Letters of Recommendation should be emailed to the District Counselors at ncdcounselor@tbsigma.org.
Late submissions for any application are inadmissible and will not be considered for review.

Please note the changes made to the Future Leadership Award and the Counselors' Servant Leadership Award regarding updated requirements and limited number of submissions per chapter.
The Chapter Distance Award will be presented to the Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma who has traveled the greatest amount of miles to our in-person Events during the year. This includes Summer FUNction, Fall Kickoff, all Block Events, and District Convention.

The Chapter Participation Award will be presented to the Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma with the highest percentage of Active members in attendance at our District Events throughout the year. This includes Summer FUNction, Fall Kickoff, all Block Events, and District Convention.

The Chapter Participation Improvement Award will be presented to the Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma who has increased their attendance to our District Events during the year the most from last year's attendance. This includes Summer FUNction, Fall Kickoff, all Block Events, and District Convention.

This Award is for a new member of the Chapter who shows great potential for future leadership at the Chapter, District, or National level of Tau Beta Sigma. This person shows tremendous leadership, true selflessness, and a great sisterly attitude at all times.

This award exists to recognize individuals who have such a desire to serve that they cannot help but become a leader. Nominee should demonstrate an ability to develop other sisters' into leaders, fostering of the Tau Beta Sigma National Mission and Vision Statement, and their outstanding contributions made to their collegiate bands. These qualities are an embodiment of the leadership, service, and character we strive for in Tau Beta Sigma.

This Award is designed to recognize outstanding individuals like Kathy Stevens who have continued their service to Tau Beta Sigma and bands at least five years beyond their undergraduate careers.

This award is given to chapters who demonstrate the ability to meet specific obligations and remain in good standing as a chapter by completing National paperwork on time. This award is a prerequisite for consideration for the Counselor’s Cup Award.

This award honors the most outstanding chapter in the North Central District and is awarded to chapter that best exemplify the ideals of our national organization. To win this award, chapters must submit a bid for consideration upon satisfying eligibility requirements.

The Focus on Five Improvement Award will be presented to all Chapters who completed more of the Focus on Five Campaign than they did the previous year. This Award is designed to celebrate Chapters' increased engagement with our National Programs. Because the results of the Focus on Five Campaign are not completed until June 1st, 2026, an Award Certificate will be sent out to Chapters over the summer.

The Most Spirited Convention Chapter Award will be presented to a Chapter in the North Central District that attends District Convention and exhibits extreme sisterhood and spirit. This Chapter demonstrates exceptional school spirit and enthusiasm while sharing their positivity throughout the duration of District Convention!

The Most Spirited Convention Sister Award will be awarded to the Sister that shows the most spirit at District Convention. This Sister spends time getting to know Sisters from other Chapters, is enthusiastic about attending all Events, and demonstrates exceptional school spirit and makes their home Chapter proud! They embody the 8&5 and are truly a joy to be around.

This Award is conducted jointly by the North Central District of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. It recognizes a Chapter that has designed and implemented an exceptional service project to assist the band program of its respective school. This Award is designed to reinforce the purposes of the Sorority and Fraternity.

This award is conducted jointly by the North Central District of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. This award is targeted for, but not limited to, smaller chapters. The Award is used to assist in the completion of an existing project that benefits the entire band program and is outside the realm of administrative fiscal responsibility.
