Part #1 - Due October 15th, 2026:
As a Chapter, either in-person or virtually, watch the "Overture Module 0" video
If virtual, ALL CAMERAS MUST BE ON

Part #2 - Due June 1st, 2027:
At least one Active Member of the Chapter must attend 2 workshops or events hosted by a District Officer or National Team member
Submit a picture of attendance for each workshop or event

TO RECEIVE THIS STRIPE COMPLETE EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING:
Host a Crescendo event.
Examples of Crescendo events: Storytime with instruments, instrument petting zoo, beginner-friendly auxiliary clinic, host/facilitate an event for high school band day, craft instruments, Section/Small Band Showcase and share experience of how band provides value to you
OR
Host a Coda event.
Examples of Coda events: Music Bingo, storytime with instruments, instrument petting zoo, craft instruments, host a mini concert, Section/small band showcase and share experience of how band provides value to you
TO RECEIVE THIS STRIPE:
Host a Women in Music Speaker for your band, your campus, and in your community
TO RECEIVE THIS STRIPE:
Plan & host a qualifying "For Greater Leaders" leadership development experience for your band or community. The event should provide participants with an opportunity to develop, practice, or reflect upon skills that support effective and service-minded leadership.
Examples of Leadership Development Resources: Career Counselor, Band Staff Member, other professional school resources, etc
Example Topics: Public Speaking Tips, Interview Skills, Leadership Styles, Learning Styles, Effective Communication Styles, Burnout Awareness, Time Management, Conflict Resolution, Emotional Intelligence
The Chapter must take an active role in planning and organizing the event
2/3rds of your Active Chapter Membership must participate
TO RECIEVE THIS STRIPE, COMPLETE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Host a workshop that encourages improving musicianship skills
Examples of Musicianship workshops:
Providing “tutors” or practice buddy sessions, host fundamentals workshop for various instruments in band, host technique workshop for various instruments in the band, tone production workshops, sight-reading activities, rhythm or music theory sessions, etc.
2/3rds of your Active Chapter Membership must participate
OR
Host a workshop that encourages improving marching skills (including dance routines)
Examples of Marching & Auxiliary Skills workshops:
Host event for learning marching techniques, host body conditioning for marching band, host event to learn dance routine fundamentals, posture and body alignment, visual performance development, how to prepare/condition body for various auxiliary groups (i.e. dance, flags, majorettes, etc.), etc.
2/3rds of your Active Chapter Membership must participate
OR
Host a workshop that encourages improving vocal or instrumental arrangements
Examples of Vocal & Instrumental Arrangement skill workshops:
Vocal arrangements, instrumental arrangements, mixed vocal and instrumental arrangements, etc.
2/3rds of your Active Chapter Membership must participate
TO RECIEVE THIS LYRE PIECE:
Apply for two qualifying District or National awards.
Example Combinations:
Two National awards
Two District awards
One National award and one District award
TO RECIEVE THIS LYRE PIECE:
Host an intentional space that allows Chapter members to reflect on the relationships, values, and experiences that shape their Chapter and identify ways to strengthen belonging and sisterhood. The event may be incorporated into a Chapter retreat, sisterhood activity, vision planning session, officer transition, anniversary, wellness initiative, or another appropriate Chapter program.
At least 2/3rds of the Chapter's Active members must participate
The event must include intentional reflection and discussion, and each participant must contribute by completing an individual worksheet or participating in a facilitated group conversation
The event may not be counted towards another Focus On Five Stripe or Lyre Piece

TO RECIEVE THIS LYRE PIECE:
Plan & host a qualifying NIB Audition Event for members of the Chapter's band program or campus community. The event should introduce participants to the NIB, explain the audition process, and provide meaningful preparation or support for students interested in submitting an audition.
