COMPETITION DAY 1 -OCTOBER 30TH 2017
Morning Session Swimming- TBS Swimmers competed in over 35 events at the opening morning of the Pink Group U15 Games. With some fantastic comebacks and strokes in all four events the Yeti Swimmers captured 15 medals. Congratulations to all Swimmers and especially to Roisin and Anna who won 4 medals each. The girls relay team finished off the Swimming event capturing the bronze position and place on the podium for TBS.
Afternoon Session Athletics-The afternoon Athletics session commenced with the High Jump and TBS were very successful capturing medal positions in both Boys categories and in the Girls A competition. There were some heroics on the track especially in the long distance running throughout the session and TBS athletes visited the podium on numerous occasions to collect medals for jumps and throws. A tough afternoon of Athletics but great efforts all around from the Yetis!
COMPETITION DAY 2-OCTOBER 31ST 2017
Girls Football
TBS Girls footballers combined with Kota Kinabalu to form the Kinmandu team. Kinmandu started off the tournament with a great opening 1-0 victory against Malaysian School Prince of Wales Island . A tough day ensued and two 1-0 losses followed. Kinmandu finished in 4th position overall in Girls Football tournament
Boys Basketball
The Boys Basketball team had a fantastic start to the U15 FOBISIA Basketball competition. TBS won the jump ball and raced into a 7 point lead in the opening game versus Hong Kongs' Discovery Bay International School. All TBS squad members contributed to a 25-4 points win. This game was followed by a 28-19 points loss to eventual winners Kota Kinabalu and an exciting victory over Prince of Wales Island Intl school on a 24-17 scoreline. The final two games of the round robin tournament were crucial for a medal position for the Yetis and an amazing victory over Garden International put us in a medal spot. The final game versus Sri KDU was close right up to the final quarter when the Malaysian school pulled into a 7 point lead to snatch the victory and resulted in the Bronze medal position for the Yetis. A wonderful day of competition saw some new Basketball stars emerging from the TBS squad!
COMPETITION DAY 3-NOVEMBER 1ST 2017
Boys Football
The Yeti Footballers played 5 games in the tournament against the same teams that they encountered the previous day in Basketball. In the first early game they lost 1-0 to SriKDU. This was followed by a comprehensive victory over Garden School Rayong on 2-0 scoreline. There were some amazing plays and saves throughout the tournament with each TBS player contributing. The boys had some hard fought games and unfortunately could not manage another victory recording a 3-1 loss to Discovery bay, a 1-0 loss to POWWIS and a 3-0 loss to KIS to round off the tournament.
Girls Basketball
TBS Girls Basketballers combined with Kota Kinabalu to form the Kinmandu team and were hoping to replicate the boys performance from the previous days' Basketball. They started off with a 9-0 loss against discovery bay but slowly found their scoring form with a 3-0 victory over SriKDU. A loss of 6-12 to POWIIS meant a 3rd/4th play-off game against SriKDU. An exciting game which was lebel through out but the final quarter saw SriKDU sink some lay-ups to capture the victory. Well done to all on a great effort throughout.
