24th FEB TBS V RBS @ HOME MEET 11.00am Captains choice for KIT DON'T BE LATE!!
Rosebud VS TBS Monday 26th Home Captains Choice for Kit 3.30 - 4.30
TBS 36 - 44 RBS The second game saw a similar result as the first encounter with RBS just edging TBS to victory. TBS however this time produced at much more rounded performance and were in the game right up until the last few minutes of the the tie. TBS coaches have both highlighted the lack of game management as a reason and an improvement that has to be made. This was highlighted when with 1.50 seconds left TBS got to within two points and then shot 3 lacklustre 3 pointers that failed to score, RBS won the rebounds and scored on 2/3 turnovers effectively putting the game to bed.
TBS 30 - 33 RBS
The NISSA Season got under way with an agonising defeat to Rato Bangla school, TBS started the game well and quickly adapted to the fast paced game, as the scores swang either way, TBS confidence started to grow and TBS kept up with the visiting team, 7 - 10 at the end of the first quarter.
However the 2nd quarter saw TBS slipped into old bad habits and the boys made to many mistakes and failed to take the chances that they created. Only scoring two points in the second period would prove to hurt TBS later in the game. 9 - 22 as half time approached.
The 3rd and 4th quarter again showed the new characteristics the TBS have started to show and TBS began to gradually pull back their opponents, as we reached the final stages we were 3 points behind and had chances to win, however it was not meant to be and TBS will now need to re group and get ready for the next fixture.
TBS 61 - 77 Rosebud
In a friendly match TBS produced an excellent performance against a college level side who were extremely talented. Some excellent attacking play allowed TBS to score a higher total then in previous games but again some sloppy play and to many turnovers were punished and TBS were unable to get the result they would have wanted. Lots of positives to take from the game and it also allowed the coaches to have a look at the full squad of players.

TBS V WOODSTOCK
57 - 34 Win
TBS first game of the season was against a touring side from Indian, in the early stages the quick paced and skilful Indian boarding school took full advantage of TBS lack of fitness. The YETIS have lost a lot of players from last year and the new look squad were aiming to impressive the new look coaching team of Mr Wambeek and Nepal Army player Auyush. As the TBS juices started to flow and the communication and teamwork started to re establish themselves TBS took control and in the 2nd and 3rd quarter played some exquisite Basketball. With a big lead established TBS had the luxury of giving full debuts to Arvan and Shreyash and both players rebounding could be extremely beneficial this year. Well Done YETIS

BOYS FINISH 5TH IN NISSA CUP
TBS played Modern Indian School in the 5th/6th play-off Basketball game at Lincoln School last weekend. The TBS boys have had a busy season finishing with two games during the week in the run up to the play-offs. On finals day hosted by Lincoln School, TBS played some of their best Basketball all season. They had an excellent return from the free throw line, solid rebounding and execution of team offences. Modern Indian School scored 36 points but TBS recorded an impressive 50 points to round off the season with a convincing victory.

TBS 48 - 55 Lincoln
In what was a super competitive match TBS recovered from a disappointing opening 2 quarters where they found them self 17 points behind before they had even got going, however a spirited fight back saw them enter the the final stages of the last quarter tied. Unfortunately a few missed opportunities and then some ill discipline meant 2 of our starting players were fouled out and Lincoln took this opportunity to re open the lead they establish. TBS did show fight, passion and pride and all in all it was a positive performance.
TBS 27 - 35 GEMS
TBS produced a better performance against GEMS in the return fixture, the game was evenly balanced all the way through and TBS on many occasions threatened to push on and take the lead however some excellent 3 point shooting from the GEMS guard kept there cushion. TBS now go into there double header with Lincoln needing a win.
The Yetis participated in there 2nd Senior Games invitational tournament. Playing against some much more established and bigger Fobisia schools the experience playing in such a competitive environment for such a young team was invaluable. The Yetis put up a strong fight in there group games where they played against 5 other schools from various countries across Asia but were unable to qualify for the final 4. Having the youngest side at the competition the boys have learnt a lot and hopefully will come back stronger next year.
Senior Games 2016 Yetis fly to Phuket!!!!
NEXT Game THURSDAY
TBS v GEMS @ HOME
Gems 55 - 30 TBS
TBS suffered there first defeat of the season away at Gems school. From the start TBS struggled to cope with the small court and the game was often very congested. TBS did not perform to there potential and this showed as we failed to compete with the extremely tall GEMS team. In the 3rd court we finally got going and dominated the final phases of play but it was all to late to have any impact on the final score.

A first Win for TBS in a extremely impressive display saw TBS start there basketball season with a win. Scoring over 55 points one of the highest scoring games they have participated in over the last few years was a highlight but excellent play from the TBS guards insured some free flowing attacks. Next game on the weekend as we hope for another similar performance.
