The team had an incredible games winning medals from the very first event. All members of the squad of returned home with medals for their collections and added 4 trophies to the cabinet.
The competition opened with the swimming, and the medley relay teams putting in some fast times against some tough competition. Throughout the session more medals were won and the performances got better and better. Individual medals were won by Ishan (2 silver, 1 bronze), and Kushagra (1 bronze) and team medals for the group B boys medley and freestyle relay teams
The afternoon bought us to the athletics, the session started early for the high jumpers, with 3 of the team winning medals. Gold for Neve, Silver for Maddi and Bronze for Ishan. The medals did not stop there, we achieved podium places in almost every event. The finals scores put TBS in 4th place for the athletics, just 1 point away from joint 3rd position.

Time for the team sports. The girls started off their football campaign with a 1-0 win over GIS taking the 4 points. They went on to win 3, draw 1 and lose just 1 resulting in a 2nd place finish and the first trophy of the games.
The boys basketball team also won their opening game 16-2 against St Stephens. They met them again in the finals with the score closer at 25-17. Finishing the tournament as champions and going undefeated throughout.
The teams were back in action. This time the boys began their football campaign with a 0-0 draw against GIS. They went on to win 4 games and had just 1 defeat. The tournament ended with the team receiving the runners up position and another trophy for the collection.
The girls basketball started of with a defeat against ISP, but the girls came back with a strong TBS fighting spirit winning their next 4 matches claiming a second runners up trophy.
Overall this was an amazing competition for the TBS team and proof that we are a force to be reckoned with. The determination and drive of the whole squad was clear for everyone to see. The team work and competitive edge shown by the squad bought a new level to their performance.
With less than 5 weeks to go before we leave for Phuket, the team are back in training.

Selected students from Years 7 and 8 have been chosen to challenge for a place in the Under 13 Team to compete in Phuket in February 2018. Those selected will have demonstrated high levels of sporting ability across; basketball, football, swimming and athletics. Sporting talent is not all we look for. We also need good team players, communicators, role models and people dedicated to achieving their best.
Students will be required to attend clubs for all the above mentioned sports (with the exception of swimming). We will be adding additional sessions for those selected to ensure we are fully prepared and ready to compete.

Parent/Student Information meeting: A meeting for for all parents and travelling students will be held at TBS in the Secondary Library at 5pm on Wednesday 7th February. This meeting will serve as an opportunity to review the itinerary, finalise all documentation & medical supplies and answer any questions you may have.
Medical insurance
Please note that international medical insurance is compulsory for the trip. Please provide us with a copy of the medical insurance by Friday 16th February if you have not already done so. If you do not have international medical insurance, you can easily obtain it from a local provider for the duration of the trip. We recommend obtaining insurance for slightly longer than the actual trip dates in case of any delays.
Departure and passports
It is our standard procedure to collect all passports prior to departure to allow for the smooth running of the trip. Please provide us with your child’s passport by Friday 16th February, if we do not already have it. The team will depart from school and travel to the airport by bus. Please arrive to school at the usual time and report to the PE office at the start of break.
We will travel in school tracksuits, the grey travelling polo top and sports shoes.
