This was a popular choice for the students an we joined both classes together to make some great competition. Students were set various physical activity tasks and students were given a dollar value for their team effort. Four Managers were named and were given $20 000 to 'buy' their team. They then chose group roles and were allocated roles that they had to take on such as trainer, coach, ref, score keeper, treasurer. They then selected a sport that they wanted to host the other 3 teams in and began training for their sport.
Week 4 was trading day where athletes were again commodities and were traded amongst the managers. We saw some excellent interpersonal skills on display between the 4 teams during this time.
Once we had settled on the final teams, the teams got busy training for all 4 games.
Week 6 saw us starting the tournaments where we drew out the sport order and the host teams ran the games. This was a complete success with students showing their self management skills and a level of responsibility as they ran their day.
Upon completion of the tournament we added up the scores which included game play, points from individuals from the RWC picks, sportsmanship nominations and point deductions from not bringing equipment.
It was a highly anticipated announcement, with sportsmanshipbeing the final points seperation.
The winning team was:
Roman- Manager
John- Captain
Kieran- Ref
Alex- Secretary
Mitchell-Trainer
Jamie-Coach
Kalione-Score Keeper
Ryden- Coach
Peckham- Score keeper
Alex M- Ref
