Below are learning opportunities and links separated out for each subject area if you want to keep the learning going at home.

These are ideas and suggestions and I recommend just picking a few activities each school day and only spending a few minutes on each activity. You don't have to do everything listed on the site every day.

What Zone Are You In?

If you are not in Green, you can use a strategy to change it:

  • Deep Breaths

  • Squeeze Ball/Stress Ball

  • Drink of water/eat a snack if hungry

  • Take a break

The Letter /v/

  • Below are links to a few books. Click on a different book each day!

  • Letter Trace ( in Preschool Packet) -Have your child say the letter and trace with finger or write. You can also put the letter mats in a page protector and trace with a dry erase marker. OR build the letter with beans or cereal, etc..

  • Spotlight on letters: Make letters on cards. Lay them out on the floor or tape to the wall. Grab a flashlight, turn off the lights, use the flashlight to spotlight each letter. Read each letter as you light them up! Extension: Say the sound/make the zoo friend action.

  • Spotlight on Numbers 1-10: Make #'s 1-10 on cards. Lay them out on the floor or tape to the wall. Grab a flashlight, turn off the lights, use the flashlight to spotlight each number. Read each number as you light them up! Extension: #'s 1-20.

  • Find 10 rocks. Here are a few activities you can do with the 10 rocks. Credit: Pocket of Preschool

- Line up the rocks and count them. Encourage your child to point to the rocks while counting. - Sort the rocks by size. - Sort the rocks by color.
  • Trace Numbers or Shapes ( in Preschool Packet) -Have your child say the # or shape and trace with finger or write. You can also put the # or shape mat in a page protector and trace with a dry erase marker. OR build with beans or cereal, etc..

Art & Sensory Ideas

  • OPTIONAL: This is messy!! Make a "Garden" Sensory Bin in a plastic bin with dirt. Add shovels, pails, and flowers (fake flowers or draw your own flowers). If you don't have this stuff at home- that is okay- skip it!

  • Paint Rocks. Once dry place in your neighborhood! Credit: Pocket of Preschool OR... Paint rocks and make a design with the rocks you painted for a place in your yard or garden!

  • Mother's Day Gift- Make a card for your Mama- draw a flower, hearts, etc.. on the card (or anything you want).
