This Week's Theme: Animals!

Below are learning opportunities and links separated out for each subject area if you want to keep the learning going at home. Please note: some of the handwriting, letter/sounds and math activities are in included in the 3rd & 4th preschool packets I provided. If you didn't pick up the new preschool packets (on packet pick up day- 5/6/20) please reach out to me. I will do my best to help you get it!

These are ideas and suggestions and I recommend just picking a few activities each school day and only spending a few minutes on each activity. You don't have to do everything listed on the site every day.

What Zone Are You In?

If you are not in Green, you can use a strategy to change it:

Deep Breaths

Drink of water/eat a snack if hungry

Zones:

Green: Focused, Calm, Happy

Yellow: Anxious, Nervous

Blue: Sad, Tired

Red: Mad, Angry

HANDWRITING

Practice tracing/writing your first name. Extension: trace/write last name.

Letter, Number or Shape Hunt- Tracing activities (included in the 3rd preschool packet I provided)

Circle

Calendar: Look at a May calendar and discuss with your kiddo. Some things you can talk about are: the date, day(s) of the week and count (ex: If it is May 18th- have your kiddo count up to 18 in a silly voice).
Weather: Have your kiddo look out the window and discuss with him/her what type of weather is happening.

MATH

Pick a math activity from the 3rd or 4th distance learning preschool packet I provided. Ex: Number Puzzles (from the 3rd packet) OR Ex: Size Sort- Small, Medium, Big (from the 4th packet). Before sorting, I recommend having your kiddo watch warm up video on the right called Learn Size.
Practice counting to 10. I recommend having your kiddo watch the warm up video on the right called Counting Ten Frames.

Art & Sensory Ideas

Create your favorite animal! Your kiddo can create an animal by finger painting, using watercolors, drawing, with Play-Doh or cutting up shapes and gluing onto paper to make an animal! Get creative and use what you have at home. This will help build up fine motor skills.
