THE 2nd SOUTHEAST ASIAN

MEDIA STUDIES CONFERENCE

9-11 JUNE, 2022 | Virtual Conference

THEME: MOVING FORWARD
CALL FOR REVIEWERS
All abstract submission for the SEAMSC'2022 is subjected to a double-blind peer review.
We anticipate the number of abstracts received this year will be more after the success of the inaugural conference in 2021.
The conference committee aims to ensure that the abstract selection process and the review are efficient, clear and fair by adhering to the full standards and practices during the review process.
As such, we invite academic peers with relevant backgrounds in media studies to be part of the team by joining us as reviewers and offering support through knowledge and expertise sharing.
The reviewers will be chosen among the experienced academics, with preference being given to those with PhDs, or other terminal degrees in their fields of expertise.
It is expected that the reviewers are familiar with the peer-reviewing process and would be able to commit to the process promptly.
Please visit the Abstract Reviewer Application Form above to participate in the abstract review panels.
It is important to note that SEAMSA members will be given priority for the reviewer roles.
ABSTRACT REVIEW CRITERIA
Each submission will be assessed by TWO reviewers who will evaluate it based on the following FOUR criteria:
  • Overall Presentation
  • Originality
  • Study Designs
  • Potential Values

ABSTRACT REVIEW PROCESS

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed using a double-blind peer review approach. Author(s) Name, Affiliation(s), and other information about the Author(s) will be removed during the review process.

The conference committee will conduct a preliminary screening of all submitted conference abstracts to determine the presented research topic and scope before the review process. The reviewers will be assigned based on their areas of expertise and specialization.

The reviewers are expected to review the abstract and rate it according to the assessment criteria provided. The mean score will be calculated for the actual merits of the abstract from the two reviewers. Each abstract will be categorized into the FIVE categories below:
  • Excellence

The first author will be notified if the paper is accepted and will be scheduled in the appropriate preliminary session after the conference registration.
