VIRTUAL PRESENTATION
Each presenter will be allotted a timeslot for the parallel session based on their research topic or content.
The Zoom link to the parallel session will be sent via email at least one week prior to the conference date.
In most cases, there will be 3 to 5 other presenters who will be the focus of interest for each parallel session.
Every parallel session will be prompted by a panel moderator to ensure that the session runs as planned.
The duration of each individual presentation is scheduled for NOT more than 25 minutes.
The presenters must ensure their Internet signal and data are sufficient throughout the session, including during the Q&A session after the presentation.
The presenters are responsible for keeping up with their scheduled time slot from time to time and always alert for any conference schedule changes.
Pre recorded video presentation is a great alternative for conference presenters that have limited Internet access.
The presenters can start working on the pre-recorded video after they have received their Acceptance Letter in order to proceed with the conference registration.
Similar to a live stream presentation, a parallel session will be arranged for this submission type and the presenter will be scheduled to join the sessions.
The length of the pre recorded video is between 10 to 15 minutes.
The presentations slides should include in the pre record video.
During the parallel session, the pre recorded video will be played back to the audience.
Following that, a Q&A session will take place for the audience to address questions or comments to the presenter.
The format of the pre recorded video presentation:
Should include a window box of the presenter via a webcam (not only a voice over)
Must NOT be more than 15 minutes in duration
Must show screen the presentation slides
Video file in MP4 format
All pre record videos presentation should be submitted before 30 MAY 2022 to be able to proceed with your conference registration.
SEAMSC’2022 also welcomes members of the community among the academics, scholars, and industry professionals to participate in the scheduled Panel Sessions that will be conducted in the Live Stream mode.
One of the most common purposes of the panel sessions is to discuss and debate the current issues from the national or global issues, policy-oriented topics, technical-oriented topics, or the breakthrough studies central to the conference theme by bringing a diverse group of experts.
Panel sessions should NOT be organized as a series of segmented individual, and stand-alone presentations.
Panel sessions should be conducted as a collection of diverse viewpoints on thought-provoking topics that were presented in an engaging and interactive manner.
Key Aspects in Panel Sessions:
Panel moderators and panelists interested in setting up panel sessions are invited to submit the proposed topic of the discussion.
The panel session topic may cover issues within the scope of the SEAMSC'2022 conference themes.
However, topics that are relevant to media studies are also welcome.
Each panel session may comprise one moderator to be the chairperson of the session, and between 3 to 4 qualified panel members and experts in the area of the topic of discussion.
The panel sessions should NOT be limited to a single perspective but should comprise various standpoints within the scope of the discussion's topic.
During the session, audiences have the chance to engage in open conversation with the panelists.
The panel sessions will last around 60 to 90 minutes and will run concurrently within a parallel session.
TIME ZONE FORMAT
The timezone format for the conference will be GMT +8:00 (Kuala Lumpur)
NO SHOW POLICY
The author or co-author is expected to show up and be available during their designated time slot and remain for the Q&A session following the presentation slot.
Failure to do so will result in a withdrawal from any nomination of the conference awards as well as dismissal from securing a conference certificate of appreciation.
SCHEDULING REQUEST
The conference committee is well aware that the conference will be hosted in a virtual format with a specific time zone, and the fact that the majority of the presenters are located in different time zones around the world.
Therefore, the conference committee provides the presenters with the opportunity to choose their preferred session for the presentation slot by selecting one of the following two options:
AM: between 9.00 am to 12.00 pm
PM: between 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
The time will be following the local time with GMT +8:00
IMPORTANT:
The request for a specific session will be based on the number of submissions, type of presentations, research topics, and availability of the slots.
The conference committee reserves the right to reschedule sessions at any time without prior notice.
The complexity of drawing together the conference schedule is a significant concern in keeping the conference committee from honoring additional requests and requirements for specific presentation slots.
The conference committee will NOT accept any requests to reschedule presentation sessions once chosen.
