Mr Jason Paolo Telles

Executive Director

JASON PAOLO TELLES is currently pursuing his doctorate studies at the School of Media, Film & Journalism, Faculty of Arts, Monash University in Australia.


He holds an MA Media Studies (Broadcast) degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a BA Communication degree from the University of the Philippines Baguio. He is currently attached to the University of the Philippines, Baguio.


His research interests are media history, media anthropology, indigenous media studies, eco media studies, ecocriticism, and Southeast Asian media.


Mr Telles is the SEAMSA co-founder and currently the Executive Director of the Southeast Asian Media Studies Association (SEAMSA) for the 2021-2022 term.

Dr Alexander J. Klemm

Secretary

ALEXANDER J. KLEMM is an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Education, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand. He holds a Licentiate (MA) in English Studies and Film Studies from the University of Zurich and a PhD in Media and Communications from the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.

He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Media Studies and Applied Linguistics and has published more than twenty journal articles on foreign filmmaking in Thailand and in the disciplines of Thai Film Studies and English Studies.

Dr Alexander is the current secretary of SEAMSA and the editor-in-chief of SEAMSJ.

Benjamin George Meamo III

Treasurer

BENJAMIN GEORGE MEAMO III is an instructor in Communication at the Department of Communication, College of Arts and Communication, University of the Philippines Baguio. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a major in Speech Communication and a minor in Broadcast Communication.


He is currently an MA Media Studies (Broadcast) student at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He has published academic works in the Asian Politics & Policy Journal and Southeast Asian Media Studies Journal; and literary pieces in Kimata: Journal of Contemporary Literary and Visual Art. His research interests are media studies, space and spatiality, Marxist geography, and cultural studies.


Mr Meamo is the current treasurer of the Southeast Asian Media Studies Association (SEAMSA).

Herwin Benedictos Cabasal

Public Relations Director

HERWIN BENEDICTOS CABASAL is the current Chairperson of the Department of Communication at Far Eastern University, Manila. He also taught communication, media, and film courses at Centro Escolar University, Mapua University, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

He earned his M.A. in Media Studies (Film) from the University of the Philippines Film Institute, where his research on social advocacy film was honored as the Best Thesis. Prior to joining the academic, he worked for the ABS-CBN Corporation.

Mr Cabasal is the current Public Relations Director of the Southeast Asian Media Studies Association (SEAMSA).

Dr Sam Zahri Subir

Membership Director

SAM ZAHRI is currently based in Malaysia. He is attached to Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Malaysia as a Senior Lecturer. His research interest includes digital culture and social change, media representations and identity, digital literacy, online activism, and strategic communication.


He is the co-founder of the Southeast Asian Media Studies Association (SEAMSA) when it was set up in 2017. He was elected as a SEAMSA Membership Director for the 2021-2022 term.
