Taproot Collective’s Community Food Team is a six-week summer job opportunity for teens ages 14-15. As a member of this team, you will develop skills in organic gardening, farming, landscaping, construction, and community engagement through a youth-led model. You will work with community members at gardens and urban farms to research, design, and install projects like garden beds, composting/water systems, play spaces, art, fruit trees, and regenerative landscaping. At the end of the program, we’ll host a public event where you’ll present to community leaders about your experiences. No prior gardening, farming, or landscaping experience required.

Position Description: Team Supervisors help lead our summer youth employment program, the Community Food Team (CFT). Each Team Supervisor will lead a team of interns and youth leaders ages 14 and up to complete projects at 3-4 gardens over a 6-week program. Team Supervisors will support Taproot’s youth-driven model by coaching CFT participants through project planning and implementation.
Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt, seasonal - June 23-August 15. Earlier start and later end dates available.

Position Description: The Team Leader is an 8-week internship that supports Taproot’s summer youth employment program, the Community Food Team (CFT). Team Leaders will work under the direction of a Team Supervisor, learning about positive youth development, community engagement, and food justice, while supporting and guiding youth interns ages 14-17.
Through a partnership with MCC, these internships are 300-hour AmeriCorps positions. Interns will receive biweekly stipends and an education award upon completion of the program.
Position Type: June 23-August 15, 40 hours/week.
