5th Grade

Welcome to Fifth Grade Art! Fifth grade artists will build upon their creativity and technical skills through challenging and engaging art experiences. Students will explore a wide range of artistic techniques and media including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, and mixed media projects. Throughout the year, students will focus on developing originality, craftsmanship, and creative problem-solving while learning how artists communicate ideas, emotions, and perspectives through visual art.

Our curriculum is aligned with the Ohio Visual Arts Standards and encourages students to think critically about art, culture, history, and personal expression. Fifth graders will study a variety of artists and artistic styles, participate in discussions about artwork, and reflect on their own creative process and artistic growth. Through hands-on learning and collaborative projects, students will strengthen their confidence, independence, and appreciation for the visual arts as they prepare for future artistic opportunities.
