Welcome to Third Grade Art! Third grade artists will explore more advanced art techniques while developing their creativity, independence, and artistic confidence. Students will experiment with a variety of materials and processes such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and fiber arts. Throughout the year, students will learn how artists use elements of art and principles of design to create balanced, meaningful, and expressive artwork.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Ohio Visual Arts Standards and encourages students to think critically, solve creative problems, and make personal connections through art. Third graders will study artworks from different cultures and time periods, practice using art vocabulary, and reflect on both their own artwork and the work of others. By participating in hands-on projects and creative exploration, students will continue building artistic skills, collaboration, and an appreciation for the role of art in everyday life.
