Taonga Puoro Level 2 Document - Needs to be filled in before the wananga.
Make sure you:
1.) Insert photo's where appropriate
2.) Remember to use the slide shows or powerpoints to gather korero & whakapapa of the Taonga
3.) Be clear and concise with your words - if it doesn't make sense to you, it wont make sense with the person who assesses you.
Following the completion of the theory you will need to research, plan, prepare and make a KOAUAU, PUREREHUA, POROTITI & TUMUTUMU.

FINAL TASK
You final task will be a performance aspect that can also be used as a composition & group performance assessment if you choose.
The student will need to either be apart of a group or can be an individual. You will need to compose a 2-4 min song with the Taonga Puoro that you have made or used from the kete.
This can be an:
1.) Instrumental composition: The use of the taonga is structured and has a clear progression - student(s) can play more than 1 instrument during the performance. The performance will need to be recorded for evidence and an explanation of the story you were telling.
2.) Spoken Word Poem: in te reo or english with the taonga puoro used to support the kaupapa. This poem could be a story of your life, your pepeha, whakapapa or a traditional Maori story that may have interested you.
3.) Waiata: Taonga Puoro could be used to support a traditional maori waiata, karakia or tauparapara.
